Punjab govt announces good news for farmers, announces 50% subsidy on solar system installation
The Punjab government has announced a 50 percent subsidy on the installation of solar systems.
According to details, Punjab Agriculture Minister Malik Noman Langarial has said that the solar system will be installed for sprinkler irrigation system, will be installed on 20,000 acres at a cost of over Rs 3 billion, the project will reduce costs and increase production. He said that 60 percent of electricity in the country was being generated by spending dollars but the cost of electricity from alternative sources was very low.
On the other hand, the Federal Minister for Energy Omar Ayub while addressing the function said that there are billions of dollars of investment opportunities in the energy sector in Pakistan, which is why people want to invest in this sector in Pakistan. He said that a 500 MW solar plant would be set up in Balochistan with the cooperation of Saudi Arabia and next year 26,000 MW of electricity would be transmitted to the system. It is the job of the distribution companies to address the grievances of the government. He said that if the government took over, the distribution companies would be running at a loss but the consumer has no interest in how much electricity there is in the country.
